named in honour of the late great basil tait
who is always with us on the stage!
FULL LIST OF WINNERS
Only one member of this cast sat in a bathtub wearing nowt but his wife’s knickers, and sang a child’s song to his rubber duck…… he did it with panache and a smile on his face every night, whatever he called me off-stage! For being The Best Sport imaginable, this Producer’s Award goes to
Allan Knight. This next award is for The Best Recovery. Not only did these two children have to cope with suddenly discovering themselves tied together, from which they made a hasty and barely noticeable retreat off stage, they also had to time their return to the stage to limit the impact on the choreography. Well they were amazing, and laughed their own socks off at the fun of it. So for giving our audiences the biggest laugh of the night, and for taking it totally in their stride, I’m hugely proud to give the awards for The Best Recovery to
Bobby Hastings and Ellie Mae Blinco. |
The next award is called the Saying No But Doing It Anyway, Complaining About Wearing A Dress But Secretly Loving It and Having The Best Show Of His Career Award. Can you guess who this award is going to?? To our wonderful cross-dresser, who also happened to do the show despite being in constant pain and who would frankly have won an award for that anyway.
Paul McPherson. |
This award is call The Unplanned Cameo award…… Having decided that there was ultimately one thing more important than Cabaret this year (huh!) Kate Dyer did still manage to attend practically every show, and in the space of a heartbeat was able to learn the choreography and take part on stage when standing in for Nina. Kate, I’m so glad you can honestly put your hand up and say “I was there” again this year, you richly deserved to have your short moment in the spotlight and I’m thrilled to give you “The Unplanned Cameo” Producer’s Award.

Now we come to The Enablers! The risk of losing Nina this year was too much to bear! So several ladies stepped up to be her understudies. Congratulations to
Briony, Rosina, Debbie and Lynsey!
Prize for those who didn’t get filmed, Jammie Dodgers. Prize for Lynsey, who DID get filmed, and who also managed to turn her solo into a duet, it’s a Duet bar.
